My cartoon this week had nothing to do with with the governor from IL but I liked this comic. Basically, the cartoonist is just trying to show what a moron the guy is. The fact that he thought his schemes would work just shows his stupidity. Who elected him anyway? Now, the fact that he is trying to plead not guilty also adds on the stupidity factor. Wow, people can be so dumb.

Current Event 2
So, we all know that Hilary Rodham Clinton is going to be secretary of state and was Obama's top choice. Whether she was a smart choice or not is another matter of discussion, but what's Bill going to be do during all of this? This is basically what my political cartoon was about this week. My political cartoon this week was again from The Washington Post. The cartoon showed Hilary at fancy dinner, sitting at the table of honor with all the foreign big shots. Meanwhile, Bill is sitting at the "Spouse's Table" with all the other female spouses, and looking very bored and gloomy. One of the spouses says to him. "Ah, so you married the American secretary of state, and what do you do?" The cartoon was basically showing that now is Hilary's time in the spotlight, and Bill is kind of forgotten. Although he was a former president of the US, people are thinking about now, and this moment so his powers as being a leader and known, but not anymore acknowledged. Also, the cartoon was showing a difference in power, with Bill have the power of being the leader of charities, and Hilary having the power of dealing with foreign powers. It's pretty obvious who has the bigger influence.

Current Event 1- Second Quarter
We'll, it's certainly been a while since I've been on here. Well now for current events, it's all about political cartoons. Political cartoons are pretty cool. Not only are they humorous, but they display information that instead of reading a long article all you have to do is read the cartoon. This week my cartoon was from The Washington Post. It showed Obama at a podium, with an extremely big head. Surrounding him are various reporters trying to get his attention, as well as President Bush standing in the back. Obama says "I'll take one more question. Yes, you in the back," to which President Bush asks, "Can I have my podium back?" The cartoon was trying to show that even though Obama isn't president yet, he already doing so much and is in the media every single day. The only things being said about Bush are what he's doing for Christmas, and thank God he's leaving blah blah blah you get the idea. I guess with such a historic win, not to mention a not so great former presidency, of course Obama would be speaking and in the newspaper all the time, especially now since he's picking his cabinet, which is like, a freakin' big deal in Washington. If I was Bush, I'd be like, thank God this is all someone else's problem now. Get me out of here!
I'll have another one next week!
